Can we as a people , help the law enforcement officers to stop the riduculous killing that are happening especially of children and women?

Recently, in global news, I have been noticing that there is an infectious disease called "murder". So many people are dying because it seems as a society we are really not doing much to safeguard our future. People are killing others to fulfill their selfish desires, others are killing for their upkeep, others because they hate people for their accomplishments and others are killing to stop others from achieving their dreams.

What really is becoming of our world? There are people who are being failed by the very people who are supposed to protect them. Is there something we can do to prevent and stop this madness?
